Fats and essential fatty acids
As with proteins, fats are made up of a large number of fatty acids. Some of these fatty acids (lauric, myristic, palmitic, stearic, arachidonic, etc.) may be created by the dog during digestion. However, 2 fatty acids (one ω3 : acide α-linolenic acid and one ω6 : linoleic acid) have to be found in the dog’s food ration. These are called essential fatty acids. The mastery PRO range contains a mix of animal and vegetable fats (lard, duck fat, corn oil, soy oil and above all linseed oil, etc.) in very precise proportions to give foods that are rich and balanced in essential fatty acids.
